Ophélie Gaillard France

Since winning the Prize of “Revelation: Solo Instrumentalist of the Year” at the French Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2003, she performs with the most prestigious orchestras and gives recitals in the most renowned venues. Fond of encounters, she shares the stage with Lambert Wilson, hip-hop dancer Ibrahim Sissoko, dancer Hugo Marchand (Etoile of the Paris Opéra), or Brazilian singer of bossa nova Toquinho.

In 2005, she set up Pulcinella, a collective of virtuosos with a passion for performance practice on period instruments. The recordings for APARTE devoted to Vivaldi, Boccherini and Bach reaped several awards, among them a DIAPAON D’OR of the year.

A sought-after teacher, she gives masterclasses all over the world. She is regularly invited as a member of the Jury at the ARD and Geneva Competitions. 2014 she was appointed Professor at the HEM in Geneva.

Ophélie Gaillard plays a cello by Francesco Goffriller (1737), generously on loan from the CIC, and also an anonymous Flemish violoncello piccolo.
