Troels Svane Denmark

Troels Svane studied with David Geringas at the Musikhochschule Lübeck, Germany. He was taught by Bylsma, Helmerson, Kirshbaum, Ligeti, Yo-Yo Ma, Palm, Pergamenschikow, Rostropovich, Shafran and Tortelier. He won prizes at prestigious international competitions, and played concerts all over Europe, Australia, Asia, South America and the USA. He was a soloist with orchestras in Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Switzerland, and he recorded more than 40 CDs including the complete works for cello and piano by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and Reger.

 

Svane was the assistant to Geringas for 11 years. In 2004 he became professor for violoncello at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. Furthermore, he has a cello class at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler Berlin. He gave masterclasses in Australia, Asia, Ukraine, South America and in numerous European countries. His students are prize winners at international competitions (ARD, Feuermann, Geneva, Rostropovich, Tchaikovsky) and members of renowned chamber ensembles and orchestras.
