Jury
Louise Hopkins enjoys a varied career as a chamber musician, soloist, and cello professor. She has performed in venues internationally, collaborating with artists such as Thomas Adès, Aleksandar Madzar, András Keller, Dénes Várjon and Tamara Stefanovich.
Frequently participating at major festivals, including Aldeburgh, Amsterdam Cello Biennale, Belgrade Cello Festival, Trondheim, the Australian Chamber Music Festival and Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music. Louise has been broadcast on the BBC, RTE, WFMT, Swiss Romande, ABC, New Zealand Radio, and Radio France.
Louise gives masterclasses internationally and has held a teaching position at Bern Hochschule. She recently participated in the delivery of a two-year team-teaching Masters project at HMTM Hannover.
She is currently the Head of Strings and a cello professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Louise has participated in the juries of the Banff, Trondheim, and Wigmore Hall string quartet competitions, the Lutosławski and Amsterdam Biennale cello competitions, and the Melbourne and Lyon International Chamber Music Competitions.
