Kangho Lee Korea

Kangho Lee is acclaimed for his beautiful tone, scholarly interpretation, and passionate performance. Since debuting at age 12 with the Seoul Philharmonic, he has performed with leading orchestras including the KBS Symphony, Busan Philharmonic, and Germany’s Halle Philharmonic. He has appeared on major stages such as Domaine Forget Music Festival, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Banff Centre, and the Orford Arts Centre, with his performances broadcast internationally.

 

Representing Korea, he has toured Europe and gained recognition through complete cycles of works by Brahms, Schumann, and Beethoven in North America, Russia, and Poland. An avid chamber musician, he co-founded the Tonus Trio and released acclaimed recordings.

 

Kangho Lee studied economics at Swarthmore and earned music degrees from Yale University and the New England Conservatory.

At 26, he was appointed professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, later joining the University of Connecticut. He is now a professor at Korea National University of Arts and a frequent juror at major cello competitions.
