Danwen Wei China

Danwen Wei, a native of China, is a celebrated musician known for his remarkable piano performances. He has soloed with prestigious orchestras, including New York Philharmonic, Minnesota Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony, National Orchestra of China and the Singapore Symphony among many others. As a Steinway Artist, he's graced international stages in Europe, Asia, and the United States, leaving a mark at festivals like Ravinia and Mostly Mozart. Wei's musical journey also delves into conducting, where he's led orchestras like I Soloisti di Perugia, Budapest Youth Symphony, and more. Since 2013, he's been the principal conductor of Music Fest Perugia in Italy. A Juilliard School graduate and a pupil of the legendary Vladimir Horowitz, Wei is a highly sought-after teacher and competition adjudicator. He imparts his wisdom to students, many of whom have claimed top prizes in various competitions. Currently, he chairs the piano department and teaches at the Central Conservatory of China in Beijing.
