Kun Woo Paik, a renowned pianist born in Seoul, is celebrated as a leading pianist of his generation. His musical journey began at age 10 when he performed Grieg's Piano Concerto with the Korean National Orchestra. After studying in New York, London, and Italy, he gained international recognition with performances at Lincoln Centre and Carnegie Hall. Paik's career included collaborations with prestigious conductors and orchestras worldwide, including the New York Philharmonic, London Symphony, BBC Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, Oslo Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonic, and RAI National Symphony Orchestra. His extensive repertoire ranged from Bach to Stockhausen, with acclaimed recordings of Rachmaninov's Piano Concertos among others. As an exclusive Decca artist, he recorded Bach's organ works and Faure's Piano works, earning major French prizes. Notably, Paik undertook a project to record all 32 Beethoven Sonatas for Decca. He resides in Paris, directing the Emerald Coast Music Festival and holding the title of "Chevalier de l'ordre des arts et des lettres" from the French Government. In addition to his musical achievements, he engaged in charity concerts, offering solace and celebration to diverse audiences.
