Arthur Greene, an acclaimed pianist, has won first prizes in the William Kapell, Gina Bachauer, and Busoni International Piano Competitions. He performed Brahms' complete solo piano works in Boston and recorded Scriabin's etudes for Supraphon. Greene presented Scriabin's 10 Sonata Cycle worldwide, integrating music with Symbolist art. He collaborated with the Janusz Prusinowski Kompania, a Polish folk ensemble. With violinist Solomia Soroka, he recorded six albums, including never-before-recorded Western works. Greene has played with renowned orchestras globally, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco, Utah, and National Symphonies, the Czech National Symphony, the Tokyo Symphony, and many others. As an Artistic Ambassador, he represented the United States Information Agency in Serbia, Kosovo, and Bosnia. A Professor of Piano at the University of Michigan, Greene's teaching highlights include presenting Chopin's complete solo works in nine chronological concerts together with his students. He's a frequent judge in international piano competitions, and his students have won prizes and hold teaching positions in the United States.
